Coming Back Home to Music

Hello Dear Artists:

Lately I've been working on a new screenwriting project.  It's my new creative pass time and it's super exhilarating and completely maddening all at the same time.

After a couple of hours of "work" I thought I would take a break and go to the piano for nothing other than to bang on the keys.   Almost immediately a haunting song started to float up to the surface and I got intrigued as I flipped the melody around and found left hand chords to compliment right hand notes.

It was so nice to come back home to the feeling of creating music.

Most musicians understand this feeling of coming back home.  We might not be able to fully express how important music is to us, but we know that music makes life worth living and is a steady love that keeps giving.  It's a two-way street - we love music deeply and music loves us back unconditionally.

Unconditional love feels very much like:

  • someone who loves you no matter the circumstance

  • someone who cares so much that they would do anything for you

  • someone who waits for you

  • someone who listens to you

  • someone who embraces you with open arms every time you enter the room

  • someone who expects nothing from you

  • someone who loves you for a lifetime

You are so lucky, dear artist, to have music unconditionally love you so much.

Music is asking you kindly to come back home. To immerse yourself in melody and to create again. It's not mad at you, or bothered that you've been away for so long. It is simply waiting for your return.

"Imagine that music is a person
who unconditionally loves you".
